S.T.E.A.M. Up

Integrating academic skill building with S.T.E.A.M. based enrichment helps students make real-life connections to core disciplines such as mathematics, science, and literacy.  We aim to engage participants in activities and lessons that promote environmental stewardship, community and social development, healthy lifelong wellness, academic achievement, and career capacity building, while creating lasting summer memories.

S.T.E.A.M. Up Grade Clusters

Little Explores: GRADES K-2

We focus on developing an eco-consciousness by seeing the world through the lens of nature’s creatures.  

Creation Station: Grades 3-5

The kitchen is a great place to explore science with kids.  Have fun learning about food science with our range of games, hands-on experiments, amazing field trips, cool videos and much more!

S.(T.)E.M. Career Lab: Grades 6-8

Helping future high schoolers get prepared by building fundamental digital media skills useful in both the classroom and potential STEM careers. 

Daily Schedule

8:00-8:30 AM: Breakfast

Served daily in accordance with the USDA breakfast and lunch nutritional guidelines.

8:30-9:00 AM: Harambee

Harambee is a Kiswahili word that means “let’s pull together.”  Each morning starts with participating in this spirited opening assembly.  At each Harambee we have an invited guests come and give a brief biography and share experiences with the students.

9:00-11:30 AM: Cluster Off

K-2nd: Little Explores of Life & Nature

3rd-5th: Creation Station with Food Science

6th-8th: S(T)EM  Career Lab 

11:30 AM-12:30 PM: Lunch/Recess

12:30-2:30 PM Afternoon Activities

Each day participants engage in two of our STEAM based group activities.
